QUESTION #1
What does Jesus mean: “It is finished.”?

 

ANSWER:
Jesus Christ, Son of God, Son of Man, completed everything necessary to be the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. Christ Jesus became our sin, sickness, poverty, and curses. Because Jesus became our propitiation for sin, we who claim Him as our only Lord and Savior, may come boldly to the throne of God!

 

Hebrews 4:14-16
Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.  Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Mark 16:1-8
When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices so that they might go to anoint Jesus’ body.  Very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise, they were on their way to the tomb and they asked each other, “Who will roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb?”

But when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away.  As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed.

“Don’t be alarmed,” he said. “You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him.  But go, tell his disciples and Peter, ‘He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.’”

Trembling and bewildered, the women went out and fled from the tomb. They said nothing to anyone, because they were afraid.

 

Acts 1:1-4
In my former book, Theophilus, I wrote about all that Jesus began to do and to teach until the day he was taken up to heaven, after giving instructions through the Holy Spirit to the apostles he had chosen.  After his suffering, he presented himself to them and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God. On one occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them this command: “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about.

 

Acts 2:29-33

He asked her, “Woman, why are you crying? Who is it you are looking for?” Thinking he was the gardener, she said, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will get him.” Jesus said to her, “Mary.” She turned toward him and cried out in Aramaic, “Rabboni!” (which means “Teacher”).

Must we believe in Christ’s resurrection?

 

ANSWER:
Yes! Because, if Jesus was not resurrected from the dead, salvation would not be possible! Jesus Christ died for the sins of the world and was buried. Witnesses saw Him beaten, flogged, crucified…  Witnesses saw Him dead. Witnesses saw Him raised back to life!

The claim that Jesus is the Son of God was verified in many, many ways! His resurrection from the dead was seen. Afterwards, He showed Himself to more than five hundred of His brothers and sisters.

Acts 13:26-31

What happened to tombs and bodies in them after Jesus rose from the dead?

 

ANSWER:
The tombs broke open. Dead people were raised to life, coming out of them, going into the holy city, appearing to many people!

 

Matthew 27:50-53
And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit. At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook, the rocks split and the tombs broke open. The bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life.  They came out of the tombs after Jesus’ resurrection and went into the holy city and appeared to many people.

Why is Jesus called the Lamb of God?

 

ANSWER:
Jesus became the Lamb of God, remaining spotless, sinless. He had to remain sinless, though tempted in every way, in order to be propitiation for our sin.

 

Isaiah 53:7
He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth;
he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth.

 

John 1:29
The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!

 

1 Peter 2:22
“He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth.”

 

Revelation 6:15-17

Do you have a favorite holiday? What is it?

 

ANSWER:
My very favorite holiday is Resurrection Day because it is finished! Christ Jesus came to do everything His Father required of Him:

• He was born of a virgin, willing to come to Earth as fully God, fully Man
• He grew in wisdom, stature, and favor with God and man
• He was tempted in every way
• He never sinned
• He performed miracles
• Challenged the wicked
• Healed people
• Raised the dead
• Proclaimed the gospel
• He took the sin of the world
• He brought salvation to the world: those who believe receive!

(Salvation is: the forgiveness of sin, a right to be healed, protected, delivered from the wicked, and to have life to the full.)

 

Isaiah 7:14
Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.

 

Luke 2:52
And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.

 

Hebrews 4:15

Luke 7:31-35
Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book.  But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.

Mark 5:39-42
He went in and said to them, “Why all this commotion and wailing? The child is not dead but asleep.” But they laughed at him.

After he put them all out, he took the child’s father and mother and the disciples who were with him, and went in where the child was.  He took her by the hand and said to her, “Talitha koum!” (which means “Little girl, I say to you, get up!”).  Immediately the girl stood up and began to walk around (she was twelve years old). At this they were completely astonished.

 

Mark 1:14-15

Jesus replied, “Do what you came for, friend.” Then the men stepped forward, seized Jesus and arrested him.

Why is Jesus the only way to the Father; Father God?

 

ANSWER:
To become a child of God with the Father as your heavenly Father, you must come through His Son: Jesus Christ. Jesus is the only mediator between God and man. No one can come boldly to the throne of God except through the blood of Jesus Christ, the great priest to all who believe Him. Jesus tells us we must come to Father God through Him. We only have eternal life through accepting Christ as our only Lord and Savior.. He gave himself as a ransom for all people.

 

Hebrews 4:14-16

1 Timothy 2:1-6
I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus,  who gave himself as a ransom for all people. How important is it to know Father God has a Son?

 

ANSWER:
Crucially important! First of all: because He does! It is imperative to know who God is and what He requires of us to be in His Kingdom. God is Deity, Godhead; which means He is One God in Three Persons: Father, Son, Spirit. The word trinity means the same and yet it is not found in the Bible.

In Hebrew, which the Old Testament was written, the word, God, in this Scripture is plural; meaning God is Three Persons:

 

Genesis 1:1
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

God in Hebrew: אֱלֹהִים.

The transliteration: ‘ĕlōhîm.
The English pronunciation:  el-o-heem’

There are multifold Scriptures which prove Jesus is the Son of God.

Hebrews 1:8
But about the Son he says, “Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever; a scepter of justice will be the scepter of your kingdom. You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy.”

 

John 10:25-30
Jesus answered, “I did tell you, but you do not believe. The works I do in my Father’s name testify about me,  but you do not believe because you are not my sheep.  My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.  My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.”

 

1John 4:8-10
Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.  This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.

 

Isaiah 9:6
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

 

John 8:39-44
 “Abraham is our father,” they answered. “If you were Abraham’s children,” said Jesus, “then you would do what Abraham did.  As it is, you are looking for a way to kill me, a man who has told you the truth that I heard from God. Abraham did not do such things. You are doing the works of your own father.”

“We are not illegitimate children,” they protested. “The only Father we have is God himself.” Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love me, for I have come here from God. I have not come on my own; God sent me. Why is my language not clear to you? Because you are unable to hear what I say.  You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

Jesus, the Son of God, is the only way by which people become children of God. His redemptive work literally bought those back from Satan: to no longer be a child of the devil, Christians are born again and a child of the Most High!

 

John 3:36
Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him.

 

1 John 5:13
I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.

Was Christ’s life taken?

 

ANSWER:
No: it was given. Jesus freely chose to come down to Earth, live a sinless life, be tempted in every way. He chose to become sin: He never sinned. He took sin and gave forgiveness, mercy, healing, love… Jesus is and always will be holy, holy, holy. Amen!

 

John 10:18

Why did Jesus die?

 

ANSWER:
Jesus Christ took our curses, pain, suffering, infirmities, transgressions, sins. He came to heal us, prosper us, forgive us, totally cleanse us. No one can stand before God in Heaven without having Jesus Christ as their one and only Lord and Savior.

No one save Jesus Christ! He was born of a virgin. His blood, biologically speaking, comes from His Father God. Original sin entered each person’s body through the bloodline of the first fully human male, Adam. This original sin has since then been passed on to every person created from Adam’s sin.

A crown of thorns was thrust upon His head. They placed a purple robe upon Him. Christ Jesus was flogged. He was brought to Golgotha, meaning ‘Place of a Skull.’ His clothes were gambled over. Jesus was crucified for the sins of the world.

Our High Priest, Christ Jesus, has made us able to come boldly to the throne of grace as we hold fast to our confession. As Jesus gave up His Spirit, immediately the temple curtain was torn in two from top to bottom; the earth shook, the rocks split. Tombs of dead people broke open and many holy people who had died were raised back to life and came out of the tombs after Christ’s resurrection.
