I KNEW MY MOTHER WAS WRONG.

This is a case of loving the person yet knowing and understanding the truth.
I’ve decided why I probably had a tremendous fear of driving a car for more than the first thirty years of my life.

I’ve thought about it here and there over these years. Yes, I knew even as a little girl of under five years my mother was wrong. I remember some of the details, of course not all. We were leaving a grocery store parking lot in the dark. There was a crash. Everybody was okay but there was an inconvenience that should never had happened.
It was my mother’s fault. I knew it… Beloved, it is good to embrace the truth that even people you love can be wrong. I’m thankful I learned this at such a sensitive age.
She was coming out of that parking lot, going to make a turn right. A man hit our car with his. She claims he was going too fast. Obviously, she wasn’t being as vigilant as she certainly should have been.
And over the years, I’ve come to believe that is how the fear of driving entered into my soul…

I didn’t learn to drive until I was thirty-two. Ridiculous! But I did learn… I even drove on freeways to prisons I’d never been to before. Two of them were over an hour and a half away! I’ve driven with children in my car (which can be a great challenge!) I also drove a church van with about eight children, plus my own!
All glory to God!
God has pressed me on.
At the present time I still have my license and I am still a great driver. One of my pastors taught me to plead the blood of Jesus on starting out on the road and claim my car operates according to the manufacturer’s specified directions. I do this regularly…
So: here are two lessons.
First, my mother could be wrong. This directs me to another realization: people in authority might be wrong. Face it, we all are at some time…
Second, those who are wise know Satan is a liar, a deceiver, and wants us ruined now and forever; but Jesus came not only to give us life, but life more abundantly! I’m up for that!
Herewith as some great truths which apply to all people failing at times and also we are to fear, yes fear, but only the Lord God Almighty: and that is to be reverential fear, never trepidation!
