In these past few years I have read and seen stories about people claiming to stand for Christ. Obviously, some don’t. No surprise to me! And it shouldn’t be to you either.
Seek God’s wisdom and ask for discernment. Fight the good fight. Relax and be on guard:
Philippians 4:4-7
Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Psalm 1
Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers. Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.
TWO DIFFERENT PEOPLE…
REALLY?
NO!!
Each and every person is one body, one soul, one spirit. We are a spirit, living in a body, having a soul. We are a living, breathing spirit. God is Spirit. We all know what our body is… But what about the soul? Many people may think the soul and the spirit are the same thing. They are not. Beloved, we are a spirit, living in our body, having a soul. Our soul is our mind, our will, our emotions. One person makes up one body, one soul, one spirit.
Because of this: we are never two different people.
Selah.
Over my sixty-nine-plus years I’ve heard people say things like, “He’s two different people!” This is the reasoning of either: the uneducated, the ignorant, the uniformed, or a compromiser or the indifferent. It is bad to fall into any of these categories.
Selah again.
What comes to my mind of someone making this claim, this false claim, is in reference to someone who has let people down… And I’m not thinking right now of letting some people down; I’m reflecting on someone who has let throngs of people down. I’m thinking of, in our current time of 2025, people with high profile lives who help or ‘help’ to set the standard for godly behavior.
Letting throngs of people down is quite the disappointment to the masses! When we are cognizant of correct, factual truths of a notable person’s sin, thinking they were truly were as they portrayed themselves to be, it is not only hard to believe; it is a sickening truth that may leave, or does leave, these who are justifiably disappointed questioning “How could this person have let us down by partaking in such depravity?!” How could they possibly love God?! Are they really even Christian?!!”
Valid questions.
Debauchery is word rarely heard of these days. Correction is applicable and the wrath of God is holy… Extreme indulgence in the carnal lifestyle is abhorrent to God and should be to us: all of us.
Selah.
So speaking of the person who some say, “He’s two different people!” – the truth is no! Heavens no! He is not two different men; he is a liar, a fake to most of our minds… Perhaps: not a man (or woman) of God at all.
Read it for yourselves:
James 2:12-24
Speak and act as those who are going to be judged by the law that gives freedom, because judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful. Mercy triumphs over judgment.
What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds.” Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds. You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder.
You foolish person, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless? Was not our father Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did. And the scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,” and he was called God’s friend. You see that a person is considered righteous by what they do and not by faith alone.
The bottom line is this: when a person claims to love God, check the fruit. If you have irrefutable proof this person is practicing abominations – steer clear. Correctly, only God knows the heart. If you are not in position to observe a person you’ve long thought of as a hero, a role model, pray for them but don’t do what they do. Jesus said so.
Matthew 23:1-7
Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples: “The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. So you must be careful to do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach. They tie up heavy, cumbersome loads and put them on other people’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them.
“Everything they do is done for people to see: They make their phylacteries wide and the tassels on their garments long; they love the place of honor at banquets and the most important seats in the synagogues; they love to be greeted with respect in the marketplaces and to be called ‘Rabbi’ by others.
As God’s Word says, there is nothing new under the sun. So we shouldn’t be surprised there are Christians, lukewarm Christians, false Christians! This includes people in ministry.
Beloved: don’t let them get you down! Let God lift you up!
Ephesians 2:6
And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,
Satan is the deceiver. Did you know, do you fully believe, deception is a choice? You should. It is!
See:
Revelation 12:7-12
Then war broke out in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back. But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven. The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.
Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say:
“Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Messiah.
For the accuser of our brothers and sisters, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down. They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death. Therefore rejoice, you heavens and you who dwell in them! But woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has gone down to you! He is filled with fury, because he knows that his time is short.”
Galatians 6:1-10
Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted. Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. If anyone thinks they are something when they are not, they deceive themselves. Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else, for each one should carry their own load. Nevertheless, the one who receives instruction in the word should share all good things with their instructor.
Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.
No one can be two different people. You cannot change the spots on a leopard. But glory to God! He can make us a new creation, complete in Christ; enabling His child to: heal the sick, cast out demons, raise the dead.
Matthew 10:5-8
These twelve Jesus sent out with the following instructions: “Do not go among the Gentiles or enter any town of the Samaritans. Go rather to the lost sheep of Israel. As you go, proclaim this message: ‘The kingdom of heaven has come near.’ Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give.
Those of us who choose to believe Jesus and act on this belief are also His disciples! A disciple is a learner, a pupil. That is all of us choose to love, follow, learn, and grow in Christ Jesus! God be praised!!
Selah.
Moving on.
So those who falsely claim “They are two different people!” are wrong, wrong, wrong. I’ve made that point…
But what is he?! Is he a hypocrite; a play actor, an evildoer? And: what might he not be? A Christian? God knows. And you should know: don’t associate with those whom you cannot trust.
If someone sings to millions, seemingly for the glory of God, how do you actually know the motives he has? If someone’s name and face is familiar through the media to the masses, does that make her walk with Christ steadfast? Or, if f someone preaches a truthful, backed-up-by Bible sermon for decades throughout the world, how do you know his heart? You don’t.
Don’t ever assume anything. Be like the noble Berean Jews:
Acts 17:11
Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.
Only the LORD God Almighty is worthy to be worshipped and found eternally trustworthy!
AND: if you haven’t surrendered to Him, do it now!
Selah and amen!!
Pray this! Mean this!
Dear God,
I surrender to you now, right now. I am done in trying to invent a working lifestyle without you. I humble myself and call out to You. I’m done with lying, with pretending, and explaining away ungodliness…
Romans 1:18-21
The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse. For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.
God in Heaven,
I come to You in the name of Your only begotten Son, Jesus. I have sinned. I now believe and know that Jesus is fully God, fully Man. He lived a sinless life and took all of my sickness and infirmities in His body. He died on the cross for my sins. I believe and know that He was raised from the dead so I might be saved from Hell and have eternal life in Your Kingdom with you forevermore.
Jesus, I ask you to be my only Lord and Savior. Please forgive me of my sins and wash them away with Your holy blood; never to be remembered again. Please take my sickness or any health issue I have by the stripes You endured for all mankind…
I will now strive to live my life for You to my best ability and with the help of You, Holy Spirit, I strive to seek You, study You and worship You all the days of my life, which are forever, amen!
I denounce Satan and his kingdom now and forevermore!
I also ask to be baptized in You, Holy Spirit, with the evidence of this by praying in other tongues, my heavenly language.
(To receive your heavenly language – take it by faith – just as you receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Simply start speaking syllables – do not say anything in your known language/s. It WILL come – just believe. Satan will tell you it is false – never listen to the father of lies. Pray in tongues every day!)
Thank You, God, for forgiving me, cleansing me, healing me in every way, staying with me and praying with me.
In Jesus name, I pray this, amen.
SCRIPTURAL TRUTHS:
Romans 3:21-26
But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished—he did it to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.
Philippians 2:12-13
Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.
Isaiah 53:4-5
Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.
1 Peter 2:24
“He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.”
Ephesians 2:8-9
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.
Romans 10:9-10
But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Acts 2:4
And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
1 Corinthians 14:2
For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to people but to God. Indeed, no one understands them; they utter mysteries by the Spirit.
DO NOT BE DECEIVED!
You must continue your relationship as a child of God!
Live this way:
2 Timothy 4:7-8
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day-and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.
Hebrews 3:14
We have come to share in Christ if we hold firmly till the end the confidence we had at first.
Revelation 3:5
He who overcomes will, like them, be dressed in white. I will never blot out his name from the book of life, but will acknowledge his name before my Father and his angels.
Growing up in a home without the love for God, an invalid father, heavy financial hardships, and tremendous (sometimes dangerous) discord is always difficult. Add on to that extreme shyness, a feeling of inferiority, and some may think this girl was rejected. But God’s hand was on her and His heart was for her. Today, Ann Marie Turner has performed many great services in Jesus’ name for the love of God and man; and for herself! She has ministered in the male correctional for over ten years. Along with this website, Ann is the author of Joy Stories, Volume One and The Free Incarcerated Man. Writing about the joy of the Lord and the victory that is available for a willing soul is one of Ann’s now greatest joys! Ann’s prayer for you is to overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of your testimony. Celebrate the God of the Bible and your personal victories in Christ unceasingly! Revelation 12:11 They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.
