THE PERFECT FATHER…
there is One…
The Perfect Father is the true God. He is Father to those who love Him, worship Him, claim Him as their own, and act upon His truths.
To those who do not – He is not.
Selah.
He is the First Person of the Godhead. The Father, Son, and Spirit are the Perfect God; the only God; the God of the Bible; and we celebrate Him each and every day.
Today is the celebration of our earthly fathers: it is the American tradition of Father’s Day. Be warned, fathers who are not honorable, God does not honor. We are to do the same.
Selah.
Therefore, my first prayer for this day for every father is that he strives to be a godly man; that he is an example of how good and beautiful it is to be blessed to be a Daddy! That he should choose his best Father, Father God, and teach his entire family the ways of the Perfect Father. The man of God should never forget what a privilege it is to be the leader of the family, the protector, the one everybody turns to immediately upon any cause or concern.
Selah.
The father is the one who is the cornerstone of the home. And without him being there and being who God has intended him to be…. well, you see in our society the repercussions of his void. Even in my short life of seventy years I have seen a horrible increase of divorce (I knew of one case when I was a child and it was weird.) Drug abuse is rampant. I never saw it in my schoolyard. Road rage is a ridiculous excuse for abuse. The term should have never been coined (making it some of ‘understandable’ excuse.)
A good father should never be rare and we do have examples that, “Yes, it can be done.”
Selah.
One of our greatest examples of a godly father is Joseph, son of Jacob. Read about him in Genesis. His father wrongly favored him. He was the second youngest of eleven brothers; and most of them wanted him dead due to their jealousy. He was sold into slavey by most of them… He was falsely accused by his slave owner’s wife and was falsely imprisoned for many years because of this. Yet there is no writing of Joseph, a foreshadowing of Christ Jesus, complaining.
Selah.
Through Joseph’s faithfulness to God and his love for people, he rose to become father to Pharoah. Why? The Lord was with Joseph:
Genesis 39:2-6
Now Joseph had been taken down to Egypt. Potiphar, an Egyptian who was one of Pharaoh’s officials, the captain of the guard, bought him from the Ishmaelites who had taken him there. The Lord was with Joseph so that he prospered, and he lived in the house of his Egyptian master. When his master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord gave him success in everything he did, Joseph found favor in his eyes and became his attendant. Potiphar put him in charge of his household, and he entrusted to his care everything he owned. From the time he put him in charge of his household and of all that he owned, the Lord blessed the household of the Egyptian because of Joseph. The blessing of the Lord was on everything Potiphar had, both in the house and in the field. So Potiphar left everything he had in Joseph’s care; with Joseph in charge, he did not concern himself with anything except the food he ate.
Genesis 39:20-23
Joseph’s master took him and put him in prison, the place where the king’s prisoners were confined. But while Joseph was there in the prison, the Lord was with him; he showed him kindness and granted him favor in the eyes of the prison warden. So the warden put Joseph in charge of all those held in the prison, and he was made responsible for all that was done there. The warden paid no attention to anything under Joseph’s care, because the Lord was with Joseph and gave him success in whatever he did.
Here it is: Joseph, son of Jacob, father to Pharaoh!
Genesis 45:3-8
Joseph said to his brothers, “I am Joseph! Is my father still living?” But his brothers were not able to answer him, because they were terrified at his presence. Then Joseph said to his brothers, “Come close to me.” When they had done so, he said, “I am your brother Joseph, the one you sold into Egypt! And now, do not be distressed and do not be angry with yourselves for selling me here, because it was to save lives that God sent me ahead of you. For two years now there has been famine in the land, and for the next five years there will be no plowing and reaping. But God sent me ahead of you to preserve for you a remnant on earth and to save your lives by a great deliverance. “So then, it was not you who sent me here, but God. He made me father to Pharaoh, lord of his entire household and ruler of all Egypt.
Joseph, the clear foreshadowing of Christ Jesus, even in his very own arduous trials, lasting for many years, still was able to look upon other’s miseries and extend Christ-like care!
Genesis 40:1-7
Some time later, the cupbearer and the baker of the king of Egypt offended their master, the king of Egypt. Pharaoh was angry with his two officials, the chief cupbearer and the chief baker, and put them in custody in the house of the captain of the guard, in the same prison where Joseph was confined. The captain of the guard assigned them to Joseph, and he attended them.
After they had been in custody for some time, each of the two men—the cupbearer and the baker of the king of Egypt, who were being held in prison—had a dream the same night, and each dream had a meaning of its own. When Joseph came to them the next morning, he saw that they were dejected. So he asked Pharaoh’s officials who were in custody with him in his master’s house, “Why do you look so sad today?”
Joseph was given a wife by Pharoah. The Lord God Almighty blessed him with two son: Manasseh and Ephraim.
Genesis 41:50-52
Before the years of famine came, two sons were born to Joseph by Asenath daughter of Potiphera, priest of On. Joseph named his firstborn Manasseh and said, “It is because God has made me forget all my trouble and all my father’s household.” The second son he named Ephraim and said, “It is because God has made me fruitful in the land of my suffering.”
What kind of father do you believe Joseph came to be?
Therefore, is it not impossible for you to go and do the same?! I challenge you…
In these last days we are in I thank God for all the fine fathers He has continually guided, counseled, and encouraged. I thank the fathers who have been a blessing to God and their families. Any dad who lives this way is a hero and deserves praise!
Selah.
I also want to make it abundantly clear, unfortunately, fathers who beat their wives, get drunk, commit adultery, rage and roar, are no role models and need to be held accountable until repentance. And if they don’t, well, you know the lake of fire is not just for the devil and his gang…
As for excuses…
There are none.
That’s not what a godly father would do!
As you celebrate or not Father’s Day, please reflect on The Perfect Father and the father you can absolutely be: the father your children, fashioned, created by God, deserve and need!
Selah.
And: if you a far cry from this, surrender to God. Be like Joseph! And strive to be like Christ Jesus as Joseph did!
Dear God,
I surrender to you now, right now. I am done in trying to invent a working lifestyle without you. I humble myself and call out to You. I’m done with lying, with pretending, and explaining away ungodliness…
Romans 1:18-21
The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse. For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.
God in Heaven,
I come to You in the name of Your only begotten Son, Jesus. I have sinned. I now believe and know that Jesus is fully God, fully Man. He lived a sinless life and took all of my sickness and infirmities in His body. He died on the cross for my sins. I believe and know that He was raised from the dead so I might be saved from Hell and have eternal life in Your Kingdom with you forevermore.
Jesus, I ask you to be my only Lord and Savior. Please forgive me of my sins and wash them away with Your holy blood; never to be remembered again. Please take my sickness or any health issue I have by the stripes You endured for all mankind…
I will now strive to live my life for You to my best ability and with the help of You, Holy Spirit, I strive to seek You, study You and worship You all the days of my life, which are forever, amen!
I denounce Satan and his kingdom now and forevermore!
I also ask to be baptized in You, Holy Spirit, with the evidence of this by praying in other tongues, my heavenly language.
(To receive your heavenly language – take it by faith – just as you receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Simply start speaking syllables – do not say anything in your known language/s. It WILL come – just believe. Satan will tell you it is false – never listen to the father of lies. Pray in tongues every day!)
Thank You, God, for forgiving me, cleansing me, healing me in every way, staying with me and praying with me.
In Jesus name, I pray this, amen.
SCRIPTURAL TRUTHS:
Romans 3:21-26
But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished—he did it to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.
Philippians 2:12-13
Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.
Isaiah 53:4-5
Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.
1 Peter 2:24
“He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.”
Ephesians 2:8-9
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.
Romans 10:9-10
But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Acts 2:4
And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
1 Corinthians 14:2
For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to people but to God. Indeed, no one understands them; they utter mysteries by the Spirit.
DO NOT BE DECEIVED! You must continue your relationship as a child of God!
Live this way:
2 Timothy 4:7-8
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day-and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.
Hebrews 3:14
We have come to share in Christ if we hold firmly till the end the confidence we had at first.
Revelation 3:5
He who overcomes will, like them, be dressed in white. I will never blot out his name from the book of life, but will acknowledge his name before my Father and his angels.
Growing up in a home without the love for God, an invalid father, heavy financial hardships, and tremendous (sometimes dangerous) discord is always difficult. Add on to that extreme shyness, a feeling of inferiority, and some may think this girl was rejected. But God’s hand was on her and His heart was for her. Today, Ann Marie Turner has performed many great services in Jesus’ name for the love of God and man; and for herself! She has ministered in the male correctional for over ten years. Along with this website, Ann is the author of Joy Stories, Volume One and The Free Incarcerated Man. Writing about the joy of the Lord and the victory that is available for a willing soul is one of Ann’s now greatest joys! Ann’s prayer for you is to overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of your testimony. Celebrate the God of the Bible and your personal victories in Christ unceasingly! Revelation 12:11 They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.
