OLDIES BUT GOODIES! WHY? BECAUSE THESE TEACHINGS ARE BASED ON GOD’S WORD!
STORY #1
WITH A SPECIAL “Thank you!” to the smokers who helped me with this story:
I TRULY WANT THE VERY BEST FOR YOUR PRECIOUS SEED!
As a child of God, I must again first declare and rejoice in this beautiful truth: you wise women of God want your sons and daughters trained in the admonition of our Lord. Simply said, you want what is best for them. You want your family to live the ζωή-knd of life / the God-kind of life. You deeply want them to be blessed in the city, blessed in the country, blessed going out, blessed coming in. You want them physically, emotionally and spiritually beautiful! You are women of wisdom and do not want whatever makes them happy! You love God first and foremost and want your most precious possessions, your family, to be consecrated unto God, forever holy and joy-filled! Amen! Amen!
What I’m about to share with you is truly a marvelous attack on the attack from the world, the flesh, and the devil. I deeply encourage you all to take this path to attack just one of the lies from the father of lies; be determined to give yet another tool of discernment to your sons, your daughters, encouraging them, proving to them the way of God is always right and always more fun any trick of Satan’s… being godly is so much, much more fun! Life is good – ζωή good!
All of my great ideas, of course, come from the LORD God Almighty! This is one of them… As God put this holy endeavor in my spirit, I first was compelled to get my son’s and my daughter (in-law’s) permission – because, after all, I am the grandmother – not the mother. I strive to give them deep respect in their God-given authority for their precious seed. After hearing of my skillful suggestion — they were all for it. (I knew they would be!) And praise be to God (always, forever, no matter what) my three beautiful granddaughters were one hundred percent willing to comply! It has probably been about three or four years ago since I orchestrated my planned attack on one of the most vile temptations the enemy of all souls has ever besieged on children. He cannot have mine! And that includes my granddaughters! AND I DO NOT WANT him to have yours!
MOTHERS: HERE IS YOUR GIFT:
I IMPLORE YOU TO USE IT AND SHARE IT WITH OTHERS.
This is a gift of wisdom; a gift of a fantastic idea to bless your holy home and strive to keep your sons and daughters on the God-given path of long, healthy, beautiful life!
After explaining my attack plan, one beautiful, sunny day I took all three of my irreplaceable granddaughters to a park. Randomly we walked up to complete strangers. We didn’t know who they were; what they believed. But one thing is certain – all smokers started smoking because… they believed the lie. I gave all three girls the choice of who we would talk to. This gave them more opportunity to see it wasn’t a ‘set up.’ These strangers were strangers and we absolutely did not know what they would say, how they would react. With my plan in action, we set out for valued information and a thankful respect for each person we approached.
We had set the time of this adventure to one hour. Our introduction to each person was this:
My loved ones – not one person was rude, unwilling or offended. Praise God! This was a God ordained field trip. All four of us were so thankful for the love these people gave us – giving us some of their time on that beautiful day in the park and share their hearts with us on the truth of their experience of smoking. Sincerely, gratefully I thanked them and explained that I didn’t want my granddaughters smoking and strangers like them could help play a HUGE part in the good choice they could help them make! People need people.
Each of my ladies took turns picking out a stranger (or strangers) and were never once embarrassed, bored or irritated with their well-meaning / great-loving Grand mom! I gave them also much thanks and praise for so willingly coming with me. I impressed upon them (again) how much God loves them and wants the very best life for them – ζωή life!
One more note about this field trip: I have told my girls God loves them – their entire family loves them – and we will always be there for them! Never will God leave them, nor will we!
AND NOW: WITH GREAT RESPECT & APPRECIATION:
**A SPECIAL THANK YOU NOTE — TO (SOME) SMOKERS
IN ADDITION: I would greatly like to thank all of you smokers and show my sincere esteem for every smoker who honestly tells people their experience to choose the smoking lifestyle was a bad choice; how you would do things differently, and not care what people thought of you – now realizing the value of your health and the need for a self-love that protects yourself against harmful choices on your bodies, souls and spirits. I praise you, thank you and bless you in Jesus’ name! It’s people like you who can show others ‘not to go there.’ Some will listen, some not. Always it is their choice. But your willingness to help them not open this particular doorway to deceptions is highly pleasing to God and He smiles upon your efforts! Me too! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
SCRIPTURAL TRUTHS FROM THIS “JOY STORY”:
A wife of noble character who can find? (Proverbs 31:10)
She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children arise and call her blessed… (Proverbs 31:26-28)
STORY #2
AS WE CELEBRATE MOTHERS
I want to impress on you to do a biblical study review of women and mothers worth emulating.
I’m going to enumerate three of them for you now: Eve, Deborah, and Mary. Three godly women who set examples of God’s perfect plans for His daughters and our mothers…
EVE:
Eve, the first woman created by God through Adam’s rib; not born, having no human parents. Like every one of us, she sinned. I encourage you all to read about her in Genesis, chapters three and four; and 2 Corinthians 11.
She was the first female sinner who repented. How do we know this? God, Himself, provided animal skins in which to clothe her with…
Selah.
There had to be a blood sacrifice.
ONE OF EVE’S GREATEST CONTRIBUTIONS
Eve, the first woman, is mother to us all:
Genesis 3:20
Adam named his wife Eve, because she would become the mother of all the living.
Our first mother was not perfect; yet, we are to love her. Keep this in mind for your biological mother.
DEBORAH:
An intrepid woman who was a righteous judge, a prophetess, and a mother. Read about Deborah in Judges, chapters four and five. Barak, son of Abinoam from Kedesh in Naphatli, would not go to war without her. As the leader, God gave the victory of this war to Deborah because of this.
Selah.
Are not women equal to men? They are:
Galatians 3:26-29
So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.
DEBORAH, A UNIQUIE AND BOLD WOMAN
She is the kind of woman few of us are. Think of her when you see our godly and valiant policewomen, pastors, politicians, authors, executives, and more!
And she is a mother.
Judges 5:7
Villagers in Israel would not fight; they held back until I, Deborah, arose, until I arose, a mother in Israel.
MARY:
The mother of the Son of God. Mary, herself, speaks of her need for a Savior! Her beautiful and exalting song is found in Luke, chapter one:
Luke 1:46-55
And Mary said:
“My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for he has been mindful of the humble state of his servant. From now on all generations will call me blessed, for the Mighty One has done great things for me—holy is his name. His mercy extends to those who fear him, from generation to generation. He has performed mighty deeds with his arm; he has scattered those who are proud in their inmost thoughts. He has brought down rulers from their thrones but has lifted up the humble. He has filled the hungry with good things but has sent the rich away empty. He has helped his servant Israel, remembering to be merciful to Abraham and his descendants forever, just as he promised our ancestors.”
Jesus Christ was born of a virgin, Mary. His Father is God. Mary refers to herself as His humble servant.
MARY, ANOTHER INTREPID MOTHER
Mary faced the very real possibility of stoning. In the spiritual realm, she was safe and untouchable to enemies of God! Praise Him!
BELOVED MOTHERS,
May this American tradition of Mother’s Day bless you dearly (only if you are in Christ or are a godly Jewish woman.) As you reflect on your children, whether babies, children, teenagers, or adults, I pray you embrace and apply the promises God has given you!
Here is a list worth memorizing to help you be that godly, wise, and faithful mother:
Psalm 127:3-5
Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their opponents in court.
Proverbs 22:6
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
Isaiah 54:13
All your children will be taught by the Lord, and great will be their peace.
John 14:12-14
Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.
Acts 16:31
They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.”
Heavenly Father,
We thank you each day for You.
We honor the mothers today only who are your daughters. We pray for repentance for those who are not.
Children are a heritage from You and You alone. Thank you for creating a mother’s womb.
Psalm 139:13-16
For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.
STORY #3
THE BLESSINGS OF A GODLY MOTHER!
Is it true we no longer have any godly mother role models such as Jochebed, Hannah, and the most famous Mary of them all? It is really true that satan has impressed modern-day women that motherhood is a sham? No way! Not the women of wisdom. Godly mothers know the value of teaching and training (and rebuking) their precious children in the oracles of God Almighty, the Everlasting King! One such godly mother, Jochebed, set that famous papyrus basket among the reeds along the bank of the Nile to send Moses to his freedom from Pharaoh’s decree to murder every Hebrew boy child. Hannah, instilled by God yearned for children; so still are modern women of today. And, to those who choose life and blessings for their most beloved possessions – like Mary- we thank God for you!
MOTHER’S DAY IS FAST APPROACHING US – this year it is May 10th. It is wise at this time to reflect on biblical Truth: all women who have the privilege of being a mother are privileged. Each and every person, created in the image and likeness of God, has a God-given, God-ordained purpose – which is Matthew 22:36-40:
“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied:” ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
Today (and always!) I would love to bless all women, everywhere, who raise their children in the admonition of the LORD God Almighty. Never forget, Beloved, it is the father who is the spiritual leader of the home; and he needed a wife – God says so! The wife and mother is a hugely important part of God’s plan in the big scheme of things. She is to be the suitable helper to her husband. The godly mother has enormous giftings to rear her tender children in God’s ways so they may have joy unspeakable, for the world is dark and the path of success is narrow: “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. Matthew 7:13-14
satan, the deceiver, the father of lies (who has no Truth in him) has tried decidedly, hatefully, to demean motherhood and families created for God’s good, loving purpose. HA! HA! Those who believe God and resist lies – every lie – the evil one perpetuates – have the mind of Christ and cherish life – all life! Let’s back that up with Truth:
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.
Psalm 139:13-16
Who created all of mankind? God! Who? God! As certain as satan wants to kill, steal, and destroy everyone, Jesus Christ came to give us life and life abundantly as we choose Him: and, as Adam chose satan’s tempting through Eve, Jesus gave us the gift of salvation so we may value life – ours and everyone else’s – Romans 5:17: For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ! God’s children have a right to reign in life through their only Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, as they choose to receive and utilize abundant provision.
Beloved, I honor and deeply appreciate every godly woman who chooses life for her babies: babies who grow into children, who grow into teens, who grow into women and men. People who are taught the majestic beauty of God, people who are taught the value of every life (after birth and their value BEFORE existing life in the mother’s womb) are people who seek beauty. Women such as these don’t go along with the crowd, the whims of man’s law, what seems right but in the end leads to death: no – these are strong, non-compromising women led by the LORD God Almighty and serve Him and mankind in all their ways. Let’s look now at just some of these ways a godly mother follows the giftings God has placed in her:
To read more about the wise, godly women read Proverbs 31:10-31
Hannah was a woman who valued motherhood so much she was willing to give her firstborn son to be reared by one of God’s messengers, Eli, a priest, rather than she, herself. God had ingrained in Hannah the desire to love the child she did not yet have. A burning emptiness compelled her to vow to her LORD:
… “Lord Almighty, if you will only look on your servant’s misery and remember me, and not forget your servant but give her a son, then I will give him to the Lord for all the days of his life, …”
1 Samuel 1:11
She felt miserable without a child! Do not take godly motherhood as an unrewarding, insignificant endeavor. Motherhood is one of the most blessed callings God has given to His female children! God created in the body of Hannah, Samuel, the prophet. She took him to the house of the LORD at Shiloh where Eli was literally given charge over him. He grew and worshiped there. Samuel continued as a leader to Israel all his earthly days. And, Hannah, faithful to God and man, was given more children; she gave birth to three sons and two daughters.
I WANT YOU TO NOTE RIGHT NOW: God is more than able. When women tell me doctors say they cannot have children, I say this – look to Hannah and her prayers. She looked to the LORD. Pretty women – know your value and the desires God has given you. Look to the Great Physician who supplies all our needs and gives us the desires of our hearts – our God-given hearts. He would not have given us the desire to be a mother IF HE would not allow it! (Be certain to read the Scriptures below.) And, if you had a baby die unborn, I encourage to read IN HONOR OF JESSE in my first volume of “JOY STORIES.” My son (or daughter) is in Heaven, waiting for us – without a doubt – without a lie. Upon the death of my unborn child, I found Truth and joy that he is with God Almighty and I will live with him / her in eternity!
Mary, the mother of Jesus, is the ultimate role model for mothers. No doubt, like us, she had a desire to be a mother too. Her time to bring her Son into the world was much sooner than she could ever have imagined, and in a way people found hard to believe – until the proof of whom Jesus is and how He came through this lovely vessel, a virgin. Here is the Savior’s mother who fought the good fight to keep her Son from being murdered time and again – until it was His time to die. She is a woman worth studying and thanking the Father for as she lived bravely with a pregnancy in which people were wanting to stone her for. Her husband sought to quietly divorce her, believing it best. Knowing God, Mary rebuked the lies of the devil as the angel, Gabriel, proclaimed to her she would conceive and give birth to the Son of the Most High who will reign over Jacob’s descendants – AND HIS KINGDOM WILL NEVER END!
The mother of the Son of God / Son of Man faced many heart-aching scenarios, ones we cannot not possibly imagine and many we might not have been able to endure. Beloved, do you read of her complaining about the inconvenience of having a surprise (to her and many) baby; One who had no earthly father? Who believed her, most, many, none? Mary knew God had a plan for her Son and His. She heard the voice of God.
He has filled the hungry with good thing but has sent the rich away empty. He has helped his servant Israel, remembering to be merciful to Abraham and his descendants forever, just as he promised our ancestors.”
Luke 1:46-55
As we think of mothers, realize not all are worthy. There are two kingdoms. Motherhood is one of God’s greatest honors. Of course, satan, the devil, will twist the necessity for a godly family: father, mother, children – all to be a blessing to God and man. So I say to every godly mother, the people of God’s covenant – of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob – Israel and of the Church – not “Happy Mother’s Day” rather I say: Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.”
Proverbs 31:31
SCRIPTURAL TRUTHS FROM THIS “JOY STORY”
JOHN 8:44
You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.
Philippians 4:19
And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.
Psalm 37:4
Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Proverbs 31:1
A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies.
Proverbs 31:28-30
Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.” Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
Growing up in a home without the love for God, an invalid father, heavy financial hardships, and tremendous (sometimes dangerous) discord is always difficult. Add on to that extreme shyness, a feeling of inferiority, and some may think this girl was rejected. But God’s hand was on her and His heart was for her. Today, Ann Marie Turner has performed many great services in Jesus’ name for the love of God and man; and for herself! She has ministered in the male correctional for over ten years. Along with this website, Ann is the author of Joy Stories, Volume One and The Free Incarcerated Man. Writing about the joy of the Lord and the victory that is available for a willing soul is one of Ann’s now greatest joys! Ann’s prayer for you is to overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of your testimony. Celebrate the God of the Bible and your personal victories in Christ unceasingly! Revelation 12:11 They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.
