FUR BABIES…

 

 

 

THIS PARTICULAR FUR BABIES  story is about David, the chipmunk.

Selah.

On a Saturday night, about 8:00 p.m. Duane and I were driving home. Almost immediately in front of our house, on the street, was a tiny and adorable chipmunk. Duane had to stop the truck because this beautiful little girl was not immediately fleeing.

Interesting! Right?

But she did move; in fact, she moved to the other side of the street, got into the tall grass, and leapt through it several times! We could see her do it! We admired how small this sweet creation of God’s was! We were thrilled to life (a very good saying!) Duane saw David and did not run her over!

However,

 

NOTE: before I go on, I want to comfort you and inform you that David is alive and kicking!

 

the next morning as I took the trash out, she was in our driveway right at the bottom of the steps and at the edge of our ‘WELCOME’ mat! Don’t you just believe God sent David to us?! I do! I do!

What did I do? I extended my hands to her, prayed over her, and told her she was healed in the name of Jesus. Before I went back into the house (which was only a minute, maybe two – though I doubt the two) David had moved farther away by about two feet.

I saw no blood, no crushed body parts. She looked good, but just wasn’t tearing off in fear from a woman who loved her…  God sent her to us. Period.

My son was next to see her. He told me she was really unafraid of him and climbed up on his foot even! He was blessed to the point of holding her in his hands as she tried to take the milk from his finger he had brought out for her…

Selah.

Now, Duane’s observations came next. As I said, David was just laying on our driveway out in the open. When Duane came out he saw she was letting Joseph just pick her right up…  Duane knew that a hawk, or a cat (we have a hunter cat two houses down) or just anything could have snatched David right up as a tasty morsel.

She didn’t try running; she showed no fear. Remember: God did send her to our home! No fear to the point that as Duane started coming outside, David started coming towards Tina! At that time, chipmunk fur baby wanted puppy fur baby’s help! Because Duane knows Tina’s character, part of which is ‘huntress,’ Duane restrained her from getting at all close to David. And of course, Tina was interested in this little chipmunk. She loves to chase chipmunks: that is, if Duane lets her and he does not let her.

But, David kept coming towards Tina! Duane kept restraining her… Duane could not bend down because of Tina Ann Turner as David kept coming towards Tina. David even got up on Duane’s shoe. Thankfully he was able to make a hasty retreat with our huntress Tina so that nothing happened to this precious, and very loved creature!

After a time, Duane took David to a rescue shelter. She was already still alive and kicking! He had taken a scoop and a bucket, gently sliding her in…  For some of the time in the ride to the shelter (a very short trip, thankfully) David was eating seed Duane had placed in the bucket. He waited about twenty minutes for his turn.

 

 

Finally..
You might ask (probably are asking) why is she named David…  I had already named her David before Duane was informed of the situation. Unknowingly, he referred to David as ‘she.’  I kept both of these tags. Very fun!

David, the female (maybe) rescued, dearly loved, and precious chipmunk was lovingly sent to the hands of the victorious professionals! Without a doubt, we know she is alive and kicking!
